Estes Youth Recap

It has been a busy summer for our youth group! We started out with a bang by going to Kings Island in Cincinnati, Ohio. We had 40 people go on this trip. We went to Jeffersonville, Indiana on Wednesday, May 21st, and worshipped with the Northside church of Christ. We spent the night at the church building, ar- rived at the amusement park at 10 a.m., and stayed until it closed at 8 p.m. Every- one had a great time and rode a lot of rides! We returned to the church building and spent the night at the church building again before heading home on Friday.

We have had three great devotionals. Zach Sanderson spoke to us at the Beavers’ home, Ethan Schulte gave the devotional at the church building, and Alex Blackwelder gave the devotional at the Naylors’ home. I appreciate the Beavers and the Naylors opening their homes for us! If you would like to host and youth devotional in your home please let me know.

The youth group was at GO! Camp at FHU this week – a camp that focuses on service opportunities. Sarah Sells, Jamie Moody, Sydney and Hannah Frank spoke to the group about distributing shirts and pillows on their mission trip to Haiti! We are proud of all of our youth group that went to Haiti and to GO! Camp.

The youth group will be attending various weeks of camp at Mid-South Youth Camp. The entire group will be going to the Sunday Night Devotional at Mid-South on June 8th. We will return to the church building at the conclusion of the devotional.

New Tween Ministry Begins. What is a Tween? A Tween is anyone be- tween Kindergarten and 6th grade. We had our first Tween activity when we played “Cone Ball” at the Henderson church of Christ. We had a great time eating pizza and playing this dodge-ball-type game. Braydon Harrison fell on his forearm and suffered a fracture, but he kept right on playing. That is one tough kid! We are planning some activities for the summer including a trip to The Discovery Park of America in Union City! We will also be having Tween devotionals and would love for you to host one your home! Please let me know if you are interested.

I will be directing a week of Bible Camp at Western Kentucky Youth Camp, June 29th through July 5th. Children, ages 8-18, are allowed to come. It a great week of camp that our entire youth group can attend together. The theme is “The Highest High” and we will focus on how the Christian Life is the best life! The cost is $150. If you are interested in attending please contact me soon!
